The solar installation will generate approximately 5.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and produce over 136 million kilowatt-hours of power over 25 years. Each year, the solar system will offset the carbon equivalent of 4,862 acres of forest, roughly equivalent to the area occupied by Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Volvo's fuel cell trucks will begin customer testing in 2025.
Volvo Trucks is testing fuel cell electric trucks that only emit water vapor, with a range comparable to diesel trucks, up to 1,000 kilometers. The second pilot phase will take place in a few years and will involve customer testing on public roads. Commercial traffic with fuel cell electric trucks is expected to be a reality in the future.
Hawaii's electric vehicle usage fees may face challenges.
The Hawaii Tax Foundation, a think tank, stated that the proposal to implement a Road Usage Charge (RUC) in Hawaii may face challenges. According to a report released by the Hawaii Department of Transportation in August, the department recommends a gradual shift to RUC. Most of the drivers involved in the report expressed support for replacing the current system with RUC as soon as possible.
Volvo Electric Loader Upgrade
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is upgrading its L25 compact electric wheel loader. The option to install a new parallel linkage is especially suited for medium load cycles and pallet handling applications. This will complement the existing Z-type parallel linkage, which provides high breakout torque, but now applies to a broader range of applications.
Mercedes partners with Rivian to develop electric vans.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, the electric private and commercial vehicle supplier, has announced a memorandum of understanding with electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian to initiate a strategic partnership. This collaboration will enable both companies to work together on the production of electric vans. A final binding agreement will be reached once the details are finalized.
Lincoln Electric will produce fast-charging electric vehicle chargers.
Lincoln Electric plans to design and manufacture DC fast chargers for the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market. It has developed a 50kW DC fast charger power module with a scalable architecture, capable of providing power levels over 300kW. Additionally, the charger will feature a single charging port compatible with CCS-1 vehicles.

Liebherr is a Swiss-German multinational equipment manufacturer, headquartered in Bulle, Switzerland, with major production facilities and origins in Germany.
